Where We Play
Local Court Info
At our outdoor courts the balls and nets (if applicable) are located in the lockboxes in the corner of the courts. You have to be an AAPA Member to have the combination to the lockboxes. Please don’t share the combination with non-members, but do let them play with you. If you are not familiar with putting the nets up and taking them down, then please get help in doing so. The nets are easy to damage, especially if all Velcro tabs are not reconnected before rolling the nets up. The parks are rotating play during the morning hours. Play is free.

Indoor – Thomas Lay Community Center
Location: 297 Hoyt Street • Athens, GA 30601

Notes: Public gym so open to everyone at all times. Parking across the street. If lot is full, go behind the Lyndon House Arts Center to the parking along the baseball fields.
Indoor – Aaron Heard Park and Community Center
(Geared towards beginners on Mondays)

Notes: Beginners instruction on Monday mornings. No reservation needed. No charge. No paddle needed. Just show up in athletic clothes/shoes. Public gym so open to everyone at all times.

Notes: 6 Pickleball-Only Courts with permanent nets located at the back of the ball fields. The courts are surrounded by trees on three sides. Balls are in the blue lockbox to be accessed by AAPA members. Broom and court squeegee available.

Notes: Free parking is 3:00 p.m. – 7 a.m. M-F and all day Saturday and Sunday. Bring your own balls. Turn into the drive for the tennis courts and take a left into the parking lot. In the lot turn right and go all the way to the back to the circular parking lot. Or after turning between the tennis courts and the band practice field, go the the back by the entrance to the hiking trails.
